Clinical Supervision

Reflective, evidence-based supervision for psychologists and allied health professionals, drawing on over 20 years of clinical experience. Each supervised session costs £130.

A space for honest reflection and professional growth

If you are new to private practice, looking to grow confidence in ACT, CFT, IFS or working with parents, I am likely to be a good fit.

Supervision with me is structured, practical and reflective. We set an agenda at the start, track clients and goals and reflect on relational patterns. As well as looking at case management I try to make space for general themes, patterns or stuck points you notice come up in your clinical practice and the impact they can have. I often provide resources to look at in between sessions.

I can also provide private practice support. Whether you are new to private work, balancing it alongside NHS work, looking to specialise or looking to develop and understand the business side of private practice.

Like many, I hadn’t expected to move into private practice, but when I left my CAMHS post in 2019 to move to Australia with my family for 3 years, on my return in 2022 it was an opportunity to ‘dip my toes in the water’. I have since established a successful practice, set up peer support groups and supervise a number of Clinical Psychologists in private practice.

I will bring warmth, directness and genuine curiosity to the supervisory relationship, alongside a commitment to creating a space where honest reflection leads to real professional growth.

Reccomendations

  • "Dr Kathryn Smith provides my clinical supervision for my private practice as a Clinical Psychologist. Kathryn is a deeply compassionate clinician, and with her professional guidance her supervision has benefited me and my practice for the better.

She will often share helpful resources and has been able to respond in a timely way when l have needed more urgent support.

Her supervision leaves me feeling contained, supported and confident in my work."

  • "I have been receiving regular clinical supervision from Kathryn since April this year. She is calm, reflective and hugely knowledgeable and I am so very glad that I found her. Kathryn has been an invaluable source of support whilst navigating the early days of independent practice. Kathryn also of course has a wealth of experience with both young people and adults, and utilises and remains very up to date with therapy models such as EMDR, ACT and IFS among others, which has really helped in my own practice development. I would highly recommend Kathryn as a clinical supervisor."
